What this course is for
Neurotypical behaviour is not the default - it is a culture, with its own values, unwritten rules, and blind spots. The Double Empathy Problem says social breakdown between autistic and non-autistic people is mutual.
For autistic/ADHD/ND adults who hit invisible NT rules constantly and want a map, not more self-blame. You will decode NT communication, subtext, body language, and workplace rules as cultural data - without any requirement to mask or mimic.
What you will work through
- The Double Empathy Problem - reframe "I'm broken" into "different operating systems"
- NT values and assumptions vs your own
- NT communication code - subtext, polite lies, indirect hints (vetted library included)
- Unwritten rules in work, friendship, and family
- NT body language as loose patterns, not laws
- Conflict, vague feedback, and face-saving in NT culture
- Bridge-building scripts for safe, receptive NT people (if you choose)

Pacing and emotional load
Understanding is the destination - not imitation. Anti-ABA guardrails are active throughout. You will never be told to make more eye contact or mask your stimming.
