Frequently asked.

If your question is not here, you can get in touch.

Is this therapy?

No. How To Human is not therapy, diagnosis, medical advice, legal advice, or crisis support.

The practice spaces are educational and reflective sandboxes. If you need professional support, please seek it. Using these spaces alongside professional care is fine - but they are not a replacement for it.

Who is this for?

Anyone who finds the relevant situations difficult, confusing, or exhausting - and wants a low-pressure way to practice.

You do not need a diagnosis. You do not need to identify with any particular label or community. If the space description resonates, it is for you.

Do I need a diagnosis?

No. The spaces are not designed around any specific diagnosis. They are for anyone who finds the relevant situations difficult and wants clearer maps and private practice.

How do the practice spaces work?

Each space is a private AI-assisted practice sandbox. After purchase you receive an access key and instructions. You open the space, enter your key once to activate it, and then practice privately in your own session.

No separate app or installation is required.

What is the difference between Flagship and Specialized spaces?

All nine spaces share the same depth and interactive practice format. You are not getting a thinner product when you pick Specialized.

Flagships (Signal Overdrive, Decoding NTs) focus on broad, foundational ND experiences — burnout recovery and reading neurotypical culture through the Double Empathy Problem.

Specialized spaces target specific life domains: small talk, unmasking, dating, late diagnosis, workplace survival, demand avoidance, and the "superpower" myth.

The free trial is a short onboarding demo so you can feel the interface. It is not a truncated Flagship or Specialized space — so the paid spaces will feel fuller once you unlock one.

Can I change the color theme?

Yes. Use the Theme control in the site navigation or on the chat login / session header. It switches between Dark (default) and Light.

Your choice is saved in this browser and applies across the marketing site and the practice spaces. Extra color themes may return later once they’re verified on real screens.

Why is it called How To Human?

Not because neurodivergent people are less human. The name is an eye-level nod to navigating complex social systems that many of us were never explicitly taught — rehearsing conversations, boundaries, and awkward situations without shame or performance pressure.

It was built by a neurodivergent adult who grew up with a head full of questions and no safe place to ask them. The goal is clearer maps and calmer participation, not assimilation or "fixing" anyone.

What if I get overwhelmed?

Stop. Close the space. Step away.

There is no requirement to continue. Low-energy versions of most exercises are available. You can return whenever - or never. If you are overwhelmed in a way that feels serious, please reach out to a trusted person or professional. See the safety page for more.

Can I pause and come back?

Yes, any time. The space does not have a timer or expiry. You can return days, weeks, or months later and continue from wherever you left off.

Can I try before I buy?

Yes. Try 10 free turns — no card. You get a short onboarding practice space so you can feel the interface before purchasing a full space key.

Is this anonymous?

No account profile is required. Notes and history stay in your browser. Messages you send are processed so the guide can reply (server + AI provider). We do not keep a permanent chat archive on an account.

Checkout is on Lemon Squeezy. See the privacy page for a plain list of what leaves your device.

What happens after purchase?

After purchase on Lemon Squeezy you receive an access key by email. Open Enter space, paste the key once, and practice.

Lost the key? Recover with your checkout email + order ID together on the recover page. Prices and the free try are on Pricing.

Why is checkout in dollars / what currency am I charged in?

Listed prices on this site are in USD. Lemon Squeezy may display another currency at checkout depending on store settings, but it processes the payment as the USD equivalent using mid-market exchange rates.

Lemon Squeezy does not add an extra conversion fee, and neither does How To Human. Your bank or card issuer may still apply its own foreign-exchange rules.

Which space should I start with?

If you are unsure, start with Small Talk Cheat Codes. It is the lowest-pressure entry point and accessible for most people regardless of where they are.

If you know which situation you most want to work on, start there. You can always unlock multiple spaces - there is no required order.
